I far prefer the Linn and DMX drum machines to the analog kind. I bought that sample cd off that guy a couple of years ago. Sure $20 is kinda crazy, but at that time there were no free LM-1 sample sets on the internet to speak of. At first I got it and was disappointed because they're so much more lo-fi than the LM-2 sounds. But the key is to use the samples at their higher pitches. I now prefer it to the LM-2. And of course it has all the Prince sounds including the really low-pitched sidestick sound from Doves Cry.

I am still trying to find a good replacement for FruityLoops on the Mac. I have iDrum, but it lacks pitch shifting on the individual tones! Wtf!
