Ten Second Donation

Ten Second Donation

In which: readers of my journal contribute a ten second, original sound recording for use as raw material in future entries of The Diary.

To be rewarded with: one slightly used copy of Henry Miller's
Tropic of Cancer, accompanied by a personal letter of thanks (from me; not Miller).

I will: select one winner based upon sundry, dubious personal criteria -- all results being final!

Not prison, just my window

I left without my sweater or my books; made a loop back for the books but hadn't realized about the sweater until I was more than half way to work again. Gave up. Stopped past the post office (quickly, quickly) to see a homeless man fiddling with the unlocked door to the main office, pushing back the vertical blinds. I turned my head straight towards my p.o. box as I entered the building, though I did notice that the idiot hadn't even bothered to close the vertical blinds behind him; he was plainly visible, a reflection in the big side windows along the outer wall.
