Yes. If anyone goes to a country and he knows what the beliefs of that country are, he should be willing to accept those beliefs, not necessarily adopt them, or why would he want to stay there. Missionaries go to countries and try to preach their religion, but they do it peacefully and they have to do a certain amount of accepting the beliefs of the people they are working with before they can teach them a new way of thinking. I don't care for people of other beliefs being here if they don't cause problems, but if they don't like the system, they need to leave not change the system because freedom (our system)was here first. I think people of different cultures can learn a lot from each other, and ALL people ought to be able to be proud of their heritage.
I think America is probably already a lost cause. We have already compromised our principles too much and now we stand for nothing. We are already on the decline. Our educational system is failing, our economy is failing, our political system is corrupt. I hope I don't see us be taken over in my lifetime. But Christians are now close to being in the minority and if they start allowing gay marriages we'll fall even faster. Many of the world countries hate us. I don't think we'll see our country be any "greater" in our lifetimes than it has already been and I'm afraid we will see it be much worse. I think the standard of living is going down. People may have a lot more material stuff, but they are in debt head-over-heels.
Our country shouldn't change to fit everybody's needs. It's our country. They should mold into our style or not complain. They choose to live here, if they don't like it, they can go somewhere they like better.
Michelle says you probably won't be up Sat. Sorry we won't get to see you. What about the next week-end? Do you want to get to-gether and eat?
Love,
Mom
