George Carlin did not recieve any royalties for this record.
that's the best fucking cover i've ever seen. i look foward to the feature length animated film.
this is breathtaking.. the artwork, the music, the imagery... wow wow wow!!
soo impressive.
ok, it's official... The Owl In Daylight is my favorite song, on this album.
just thought i'd say so.
Thank you! It's probably the one I spent the most time on. I had some trouble getting the mix right.
That cover art is most excellent!
So you're saying it was worth the arm I traded for it.
Excellent work as usual. Had a little problem with "On Bullshit" though. I've been off bullshit for about a week and a half. Quit cold turkey. It was hell. Now I'm back on the stuff. I don't blame you though, the stuff is just so easy to cop.
If I can just keep "A Love Supreme" off the turntable I'll be fine.
Sorry to hear about your bullshit problem. I had a bit of one myself, in my earlier years. Nowadays I like to think I've transcended to horseshit status.
'If I can just keep "A Love Supreme" off the turntable I'll be fine.'
I've been listening to that this week as well.
dies ist gute musik. it's a beautiful one. and the short runtime allows for proudly counting the replay times.
(arrgh. stan did it again, and i still left the 3 eps i prepared in the pipe - they all lack covers yet. too many deadlines these days. but also some happy ones. new book is getting printed right now!)
'3 eps i prepared in the pipe'
!! I can't wait!
'new book is getting printed right now!'
Double !!
When will it be available?
Never Meet Your Heroes, dedicated to Bowie and Momus.
Bestest is great.
So, how is your back to basics return to noise going to sound like?
Jesus, actually. And Dave Sim.
Hmmm, I thought I would try to do a massive review project reviewing your albums and giving my oppinions and tell my favourites sometime this summer and I should start with downloading them all.
Looking forward to hear those I haven't heard. Including this one.
I tried to pay one of my friends to do this once, but they never produced anything.
I'll be looking forward to this, if you get around to it. :)
wow. this is going into heavy rotation.
That makes a great icon.
If you want I can send you a CD.

holy shit, excitement. downloading now. the cover/cd design/illustration are INCREDIBLE.
I only now got around to listening to this. I'm sure you've had plenty of comments already, but...
Bestest sounds like frogs jumping on lily pads.
The Owl in Daylight could be Zelda music. (If Zelda took another kooky turn.)
Confusion!...I wish I could make music like this. The...counterpoint?... is great. I want to make consonance like that. (why couldn't I have made this?)
I'm really impressed by the style of it all. I mean, a lot of great qualities are there, but I appreciate the eclectic style. I loved the sample of the man talking. I really love songs with people speaking in them, but I'm also confounded. Am I to accept the sound of their voice as another layer of the music? Or am I supposed to process the words they are saying? Have you heard Buffalo Daughter's "Autobacs?" It has a man talking throughout almost the whole song, and there are interesting points where the istruments cover up his words, and other points where his words dominate the sound. It passes in and out, and, ouf course, they distort his voice here and there. The effect is very aggressive and energetic, but not in a macho way at all.
Thanks so much.
I have not heard 'Autobacs' but I think now I'll have to track it down. |
